The weather has been very wintery and this is a reminder that the MBRC program is fast approaching. We are in a very fortunate position to have our full program start on Saturday 27th June for the term 2 school holidays. An amazing effort by Buller Ski Lifts, The Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort Management Board and the members and team at MBRC.

Everyone is encouraged to make sure you have done the following;

  • Download the Covid Safe App here
  • Review the RTP - "Race Training Program"  which has ALL the program times and will be constantly updated with the last update on June10th
  • Review the PTP - "Physical Training Program"  which has the remaining Zoom Dry Land Sessions remaining for term 2 with the last update on June18th. Term 3 times will be announced during the September/October school holidays
  • Make sure you are signed up to the team app, have your notifications on and if you require any assistance, please email Joe Draxl @ sxheadcoach@mtbullerraceclub.com.au

All NEW members will be issued with a club red jacket.  Click here for the MBRC Jacket Collection Information 2020.

All athletes that were issued jackets in 2019 will use these for the current season.  If you need to purchase a new jacket please email Sue @ info@mtbullerraceclub.com.au with your jacket size (Karbon Size Chart) and we will send out an invoice.  The cost of a replacement jacket is $350 and these need to be ordered in advance, we do not carry stock at the clubhouse.

We are hoping to have stock of MBRC outerware arriving next week which will include soft shells and raincoats and we will let you know as soon as these are available on our website.

First Day Of Program
  First Day Of Program

The start of the program will represent a hectic time for all and we remain in the hands of the weather gods on the day. So please be ready for changes and any late changes will be published via Team App, Facebook and Instagram.

You will be expecting some further information from us via email in the remaining days leading up to the program. As with all emails, we try to make them clear and expect them to be read through fully. This will help you and us as with time management and being informed. In the meantime here are some further updates.

  • Groupings and coaches will be sent to you before the program starts.
  • Meeting place for Saturday 27th June will be to the right of the top Bourke Street Express next to the Shakey Knees run.
  • We will direct the athletes as they depart the chairlift.
  • Start time to be further advised but at this stage it at 8.30am, however we are contemplating  a later start to allow a smoother start to the program and to allow for the lack of transport and lift lines due to loading limits.

On the first day, please bring;

  • Bring Slalom Skis or Multi Event skis and free ride boards
  • Back protector, and helmet
  • Season pass
  • Race club jacket and black pants
  • A snack like a Carman's Muesli Bars  bar in your pocket

As we get closer to our start date, Government restrictions continue to change and will continue to change as we proceed through the winter. At this stage we need to plan for the restrictions as they are in place for now.

How these restrictions affect the program is vast and we have considered all of these and our ability to manage them when making the decisions we have.

Please read the changes below and we will add these to our Covid-19 Q&A.  Make sure you have the necessary items to be ready once you arrive at Mt Buller:

  • Parents will be required to be available at all times during program hours to collect yopur child if required eg tired, cold and feeling unwell
  • No athletes are allowed to come to training if they are sick or showing sings of Covid-19
  • Clubhouse entry and use is only for those that reside there and the direct staff utilising the office for work (therefore coaches,parents and athletes can not use the space)
  • Entry into restaurants etc on the mountain will be limited to those that will be seated and order a meal. No using  restaurants to get out of the weather
  • The resort will provide limited spaces available for the public for shelter and for bathrooms. Further information will be made available closer to the season starting
  • Village shuttle will not run so we will all get fit walking so anticipate this in your planning
  • Lift queues may be longer this season so please anticipated this in your planning
  • Lift riding will be restricted to 3 on a 6 seater, 2 on a 4 seater, 2 on a 2 seater with social distancing in lift queues and on slope
  • Sports hall (court one) use by MBRC athletes/groups will be unavailable for the school holidays. Air Zone will be unavailable for public use for the entire season and we will revise use by MBRC athletes/groups after school holidays.
  • Full time dry land will be delivered via zoom until further notice with no access to the gym in dry land
  • Alternative programs for bad weather days and low snow will require athletes to have good shoes for running and hiking and clothing for the same activities.
  • A backpack is essential for all weekend and full time athletes
