Welcome To Winter

Welcome to Winter! How appropriate that there is snow falling and who would have thought we are now looking at the season starting on June 22?  After the Government announcement last week, everyone is certainly thinking about the snow season.  We continue our planning  yet we are very mindful that there is still much to be worked through by everyone involved so we can start, as anticipated, at the beginning of the school holidays.

In the meantime, everyone is strongly encouraged to download the Covid Safe App here

If  you are visiting Buller in the next few weeks, please stay off the snow as there are many unmarked hazards including summer building works, cross drains and rocks. Preserve the snow, stay safe, healthy and bring on the snow.

Athlete Leadership Group
  Athlete Leadership Group

MBRC are pleased to announce the individual athletes that will participate in this season's Athlete Leadership Group for season 2020. As a role model for their sport and the club, these athletes will provide an important link between athletes, coaches and the Program Director to assist with certain activities and initiatives aimed at making the athletes time at the club even more enjoyable. The club will provide leadership training and meet on a regular basis throughout the season as well as nominate new athletes into the role.

We welcome the following athletes who have all accepted the role and challenges for the coming season;

Lara Walsh SNB Grom 2, Mia Clift SNB FIS, Matisse Stafford ALP FIS, Summer Wray ALP U16, Arya Aminizad ALP FIS, James Kelly ALP FIS, Will McCarthy SNB FIS

2020 Snow Australia Awards

Dual Winter Olympian Belle Brockhoff has secured the prestigious Outstanding Achievement award as part of the 2020 Snow Australia Awards for her awe inspiring comeback season. MBRC coaches had the pleasure of working with Harald, Yan and their team as they began their early season training at Mt Buller last season.

Dry Land Sessions
  Dry Land Sessions

Due to the great attendance with the term 2 Zoom Dry Land Sessions, MBRC can confirm that we will continue the Zoom Dry Land training sessions for the remainder of term 2. Athletes participating in the program are used to how they are run, gaining confidence and showing excellent form and commitment so Joe and Richard are happy to keep the program running. We are just under four weeks from the school holidays and it is never too late to start getting fit and ready for the season. This may well become the norm for Dry Land delivery into the future.  For example in term 3 we plan to keep all athletes that are not able to participate in the on snow component of our program engaged and connected to club activities such as Zoom workouts.

Amongst the great efforts of the many athletes involved, we would like to congratulate Zak Zvara, Grom 2 Snowboard for his efforts in dry land since he first started participation previous to last season and more recently over the last term.
