2020 MBRC eNews 10 - 8th July 2020

The first week of the program has been challenging and rewarding at the same time. To see our team of coaches, the MBRC athletes, membership and committee pull together to get our program started shows what can be done with some patience and understanding by all. The recent announcements will affect us all very differently and will wait and see what this means in the short term. As always we will push on with our program providing it is safe and sensible to do so and thank Buller Ski Lifts and Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort management staff for their hard work to get us to this point.

Sincerely Richard Haslau and Simon Kelly

Parent Coach Meeting

The parent coach meeting will be delivered via Zoom meetings after the school holidays and each meeting will be a maximum of 20 minutes.

This will be a chance for your child's coach to introduce themselves and give a summary of the training and activities that occurred over the school holidays. We would encourage questions and will be a group discussion however not one where parents can ask questions about their individual child. There will be an opportuninty to have that discussion with your coach at a mutually arranged time or at the official meeting after the mid season reports are provided sometime after July 25th.

You will receive an invitation with meeting details via an email and the meetings will start at 6.00pm.

King Of Mountain PGS Race July 25th
King Of Mountain PGS Race July 25th

The rescheduled King of The Mountain Event has been changed to the 25th July and will be a parallel event. The status is still TBC and was updated on the RTP last week.

The event is free to MBRC members and open to non-club members who will need to pay an entry fee. Any athlete that was intending to participate in this year’s MBRC program but could not end up doing so will be admitted free of charge but will still need to enter via the online entry system.

The race notice will be posted in the coming week.

The proposed event format will be determined by the snow conditions and time frame we have to run the event and at this stage it will be one run on each course with a combined time determining the overall ranking. If we have the ability to do so, we will consider running a finals format from the qualification rounds.

The event will be run in accordance to our normal events where we have the older groups u16,19 and racing early from 7am, and the younger athletes and Snowboard groups running directly afterwards and starting at the normal time of 8.30am.

Looking forward to racing and giving our athletes a chance to put their hours of hard training into practice.
