History

The Mt Buller Race Club (the Club) was formed in 1987 for the benefit of young Alpine racers (both ski and snowboard) at Mt Buller. It is a non-profit organisation incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act.

The Club offers seasonal race training programs (ie. Full-Time, Weekend and Masters) for skiers and snowboarders that commences at the start of the July school holidays and concludes at the end of Term 3.

  • Full-time program athletes live at Mt Buller during Term 3, train during the July school holidays, and for six days per week during Term 3
  • Weekend program athletes train during the two weeks of the July school holidays, and on each weekend during Term 3
  •  The Club also offers a Masters program for parents

Club athletes have the opportunity of participating in a number of races during the season, including the Buller Cup and the legendary King of the Mountain series (open to both skiers and snowboarders), as well as a range of FIS and SSA sanctioned races for skiers and snowboarders.

The Club has its own Clubhouse at 44 Summit Road, Mt Buller. The Clubhouse is used by the Club staff during the season, for theory training and video analysis, and for some club meetings. The Club also employs it's own General Manager, Accounts Support, as well as its own Alpine and Snowboard Head Coach.
